Indonesia Super League 2026/2027 Set for Fierce Battle as New Clubs Earn Promotion
The 2025/2026 BRI Super League season has officially concluded with Persib Bandung crowned as champions, but attention has already shifted toward the upcoming 2026/2027 campaign. The next season is expected to deliver even more excitement after the official lineup of participating clubs was finalized. Three promoted sides — PSS Sleman, Garudayaksa FC, and Adhyaksa FC — will join the top division and attempt to challenge the dominance of Indonesia's established football powers. Their arrival is expected to raise the competitive level of the league, especially after strong performances during the Championship campaign.
Meanwhile, several clubs suffered disappointment after failing to survive in the top tier. Persis Solo, Semen Padang, and PSBS Biak were relegated to Liga 2 for the 2026/2027 season. Adhyaksa FC secured the final promotion spot following a dramatic playoff victory over Persipura Jayapura, while Garudayaksa FC claimed the Championship title after defeating PSS Sleman in a tense penalty shootout. Persis Solo experienced one of the harshest relegation outcomes after finishing level on points with PSM Makassar, only to lose out because of the head-to-head rule.
