Persib Held, Borneo Closing In as Title Race Heats Up in Week 28

Persib Bandung dropped crucial points after being held to a 2–2 draw by Dewa United in Week 28 of the BRI Super League 2025/2026 season at Banten International Stadium. The result denied Persib a full haul and added fresh tension to the title race as the season edges closer to its climax.

The draw has put Persib's position at the top under increasing pressure. Their lead has narrowed significantly, allowing competitors to close the gap and reopening the battle for the championship. What once seemed like a comfortable cushion has now turned into a fragile advantage that could slip at any moment.

Dewa United delivered a surprising performance by scoring twice early in the match through Alex Martins and former Persib player Ricky Kambuaya. However, the game shifted dramatically after Martins received a red card. Taking advantage of their numerical superiority, Persib fought back with a quality strike from Thom Haye and a precise header by Andrew Jung to salvage a point.

Despite avoiding defeat, the result leaves Persib with 65 points, only two ahead of Borneo FC, who are gaining momentum in second place. Persija Jakarta remain in contention in third with 58 points, keeping themselves within striking distance. The upcoming fixtures could prove decisive, with Persib set to face Arema FC, while Borneo FC look poised to capitalize against struggling Semen Padang.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle is just as intense. PSBS Biak remain rooted to the bottom after another defeat, extending their losing streak. Semen Padang sit just above them with only 20 points, while Persis Solo are also under heavy pressure following a recent loss. With only a few matches remaining, both the title race and the fight to avoid relegation promise a dramatic finish.
