Adidas Unveils Star-Studded World Cup Ad Featuring Lionel Messi, Timothée Chalamet and Bad Bunny
Adidas has released a brand-new commercial ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup, featuring stars such as Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, and Jude Bellingham, alongside Hollywood actor Timothée Chalamet and rapper Bad Bunny.
Ahead of this summer’s World Cup kickoff, Adidas unveiled an exciting teaser trailer with a cinematic feel. The video opens with Chalamet seemingly speaking to Bad Bunny — whose real name is Benito — on the phone:
“How much do I know about soccer? Nothing. I only know football, Benito. Football.”
The scene then cuts to Chalamet leaning out of a car window, saying:
“This local team hasn’t lost since 1996.”
The pace of the trailer quickly intensifies as Bad Bunny and Messi make their first appearances, discussing the same mysterious football team.
“They live by the motto ‘win or go home,’” Bad Bunny says. “But they’ve never gone home.”
Messi then adds:
“These kids are unbeatable.”
The movie-style commercial also features a host of football stars, including Trinity Rodman, Florian Wirtz, Raúl Jiménez, Raphinha, and Pedri.
Legendary football icons David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Alessandro Del Piero also appear in the ad. Using AI technology, the trio are digitally de-aged to look as if they were still in their prime playing days.
In one memorable scene, Chalamet is seen driving alongside Bellingham, Rodman, and Yamal.
“This is complete nonsense!” Rodman shouts from the passenger seat at the Hollywood star.
The commercial, set to be officially released later this month, ends with the line:
“Three kids you’ve never heard of… are coming.”
The screen first shows the trio as children before rapidly transitioning to their older selves. Standing on a street football pitch, they ask:
“Who’s next?”
This summer’s FIFA World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 11, with the final set to take place on July 19 in New Jersey, USA.
