BRI Super League Title Race Heats Up as I.League Prepares Two Trophy Ceremonies

The BRI Super League title battle is set for a dramatic finish, with I.League preparing two championship trophies in case the race between Persib Bandung and Borneo FC remains undecided until the final week of the season. League officials are already planning for multiple scenarios as the competition enters its closing stages.

After 32 matches, Persib and Borneo FC are level on 75 points, making the championship fight one of the closest in recent years. Persib currently lead the standings because they hold the superior head-to-head record after beating Borneo once and drawing the other meeting.

The tension is expected to continue in week 33 when Persib travel to face PSM Makassar, while Borneo FC play away against Persijap Jepara on the same day. The final round could become even more decisive, with Persib hosting Persijap and Borneo taking on Malut United in separate matches scheduled simultaneously.

I.League competition director Asep Saputra explained that the league has already arranged synchronized kickoff times for several matches in the final week to maintain fairness in both the title race and relegation battle. Because the championship could still be undecided after week 33, the organizers are preparing trophy presentations at two different venues.

League officials believe the intense competition has added excitement and unpredictability to the season. Asep also pointed out that similar situations have happened before in Indonesian football and major European leagues, where organizers needed backup trophy plans due to close title races heading into the final matchday.
