Persib, Persija, and Other Top Clubs Secure AFC and Super League Licenses for 2025/26 Season

The Indonesian football operator I.League has officially released the results of the club licensing process for the 2025/26 season, confirming which teams are eligible to compete in both the Super League and the AFC Champions League 2 (ACL 2). The announcement highlights a strong level of compliance among most professional clubs across the country.

For the Super League, 17 out of 18 clubs competing in the 2025/26 season successfully obtained their licenses. Only PSBS Biak failed to meet the required standards, meaning they will not be eligible for top-flight participation in the upcoming campaign.

In addition, nine clubs from the Championship division also secured Super League licenses, including newly promoted teams Garudayaksa FC, PSS Sleman, and Adhyaksa FC. This ensures they are officially eligible should they meet sporting requirements for promotion.

For ACL 2 eligibility, 16 Super League clubs were granted licenses. Eight clubs received full approval without sanctions, including major names such as Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta, alongside PSM Makassar, Dewa United, Persebaya Surabaya, Persik Kediri, Borneo FC, and Persita Tangerang. The remaining eight clubs were granted licenses with sanctions due to certain compliance issues.

I.League officials explained that the licensing system is based on around 40 criteria covering mandatory requirements, recommended standards, and best practices. These categories determine whether a club fully qualifies, receives conditional approval, or faces penalties. The process is also used as a key benchmark to ensure clubs meet professional standards for both domestic and continental competitions.
