Rashford Transfer Standoff: Man United Reject Barcelona's Low £15m Bid
Marcus Rashford's hopes of securing a permanent move to Barcelona have suffered a setback after Manchester United rejected the Spanish club's initial offer. The proposal was considered significantly below the valuation previously agreed between both sides.
Barcelona had attempted to open negotiations following Rashford's impressive loan spell, but their bid of around €15 million fell far short of expectations. Manchester United remain firm on the previously set option-to-buy clause valued at €30 million.
Although an agreement had once been in place for that fee, Barcelona are now reluctant to meet the original price. This has created an early deadlock in talks and increased uncertainty over Rashford's long-term future.
Despite the complications, Rashford is understood to still favour staying in Spain, although his personal preference may not be enough to force a deal through. The situation now depends heavily on whether Barcelona are willing to raise their offer or negotiate closer to United's valuation.
At present, Manchester United are not prepared to lower their asking price, as they believe the striker still holds significant market value. This gap in valuation between both clubs continues to stall progress, leaving Rashford's future unresolved ahead of the new season.
