DR Congo came from behind to defeat Uzbekistan 3-1 in their final Group K match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Eldor Shomurodov opened the scoring in the first half with a brilliant chipped finish. DR Congo thought they had equalised shortly afterwards, but Aaron Mbuku's goal was disallowed after a foul in the build-up. After the break, Abdukodir Khusanov conceded a penalty with a foul inside the box, and Yoane Wissa converted from the spot to level the score. Fiston Mayele then fired DR Congo into the lead in the 78th minute before Wissa sealed the victory with his second goal in stoppage time. The 3-1 comeback win saw DR Congo finish third in Group K with four points, securing qualification for the knockout stage while eliminating South Korea from the tournament.
