Chelsea Land Rising Portuguese Star Geovany Quenda on Long-Term Deal
Chelsea have completed the signing of highly rated Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP, securing the young talent on a long-term contract that runs until 2034. The move highlights the club's continued commitment to building a squad around emerging stars.
Quenda arrives at Stamford Bridge after an outstanding spell with Sporting, where he played a key role in helping the club win both the Portuguese league title and the domestic cup last season. His consistent performances convinced Chelsea that he could become an important part of their future.
The talented winger has already established himself as one of Portugal's brightest prospects. He was named the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Year in 2025 and enjoyed an impressive record with Sporting, making 86 appearances while breaking club and national age-related scoring records.
Quenda has also earned recognition on the international stage with Portugal's Under-21 team. His standout displays at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship earned him a place in the tournament's Team of the Tournament, further enhancing his reputation across Europe.
Chelsea are expected to rely on Quenda to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign, which begins with a match against Fulham. The club hopes the promising winger will continue his rapid development and become a key figure in the years to come.
