Manchester City Lead FIFA 2026 World Cup Club Compensation Rankings with €3.1 Million Payout

According to L’Équipe, the detailed distribution of FIFA’s 2026 World Cup club compensation payments has been revealed. Manchester City ranked first with €3.1 million in compensation, followed by Paris Saint-Germain with €2.49 million, while Arsenal placed third with €2.4 million.

In terms of the number of international players provided, Manchester City sent the most players to the World Cup, with 19 squad members representing their national teams. Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal were tied in second place, with 16 international players each. Although Bayern Munich sent 18 players to the tournament, the club received only €2.3 million in compensation, ranking fourth. The main reason for the difference was Germany’s early elimination in the Round of 16, which reduced players’ total match participation time and lowered the overall compensation amount.

Looking at the total compensation received by major leagues, Ligue 1 clubs earned a combined €11.83 million, ranking fourth among Europe’s top leagues, behind the Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga, but ahead of Serie A.

The payments were made under FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme, with the total compensation fund reaching €305.3 million. During the World Cup period, each participating player generated compensation of €4,300 per day for their club, based on an exchange rate of US$1 to €0.86. If a player had represented multiple clubs during the previous two seasons, the compensation was divided among those clubs according to the length of time the player spent at each team.
