Persib Cleared to Register New Signings After FIFA Lifts Transfer Ban

Persib Bandung have received a major boost ahead of the 2026/2027 season after FIFA officially lifted the club's transfer ban. The decision allows the Indonesian champions to register all of their new signings, clearing the way for the squad to compete with its full roster in several domestic and international competitions.

As of July 23, 2026, Persib's name has been removed from FIFA's list of clubs under transfer restrictions. Several other Indonesian clubs, including PSIS Semarang, Adhyaksa, and PSM Makassar, have also seen similar sanctions lifted after resolving their respective cases.

The transfer ban was imposed in late May 2026 following a contractual dispute involving former defender Daisuke Sato. The disagreement centered on the termination of his contract before its scheduled expiration, leading to a legal claim that ultimately resulted in FIFA's disciplinary action against the club.

Despite the restriction, Persib remained active in the transfer market by securing several new players, including foreign recruits such as Mariano Peralta. While the club was allowed to sign players during the ban, it could not officially register them until FIFA removed the sanction.

With the restriction now lifted, Persib can finalize the registration of its new squad for the upcoming campaign, which includes participation in the Super League, AFC Champions League Two, ASEAN Club Championship, and League Cup. Meanwhile, four Indonesian clubs—Kalteng Putra, Persiwa Wamena, PSBS Biak, and Semen Padang—remain under FIFA transfer bans, with Kalteng Putra and Persiwa Wamena continuing to serve some of the longest-running sanctions due to unresolved disputes.
