Chelsea Hold Firm as Como's €30 Million Bid for Trevoh Chalobah Falls Short

Chelsea have rejected Como's €30 million offer for defender Trevoh Chalobah, making it clear that the Italian club must improve its proposal to have any chance of completing the transfer. The Premier League side remains unwilling to part with the England international at the current valuation.

Como's initial bid reportedly consisted of €25 million in guaranteed payments along with an additional €5 million in achievable performance-related bonuses. While the package reached a total value of €30 million, Chelsea considered it insufficient and responded by requesting a higher offer.

Despite the setback in negotiations, Chalobah is still believed to be interested in making the move to Italy. The defender could still leave Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window, although any deal will depend on Como's willingness to meet Chelsea's financial expectations.

Chelsea have consistently valued Chalobah at no less than €40 million, a figure that also discouraged previous interest from Inter Milan. The club appears determined to maximize the transfer fee for one of its academy graduates before considering his departure.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan have reportedly shifted their attention to Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero as their preferred defensive target. The Italian giants view Romero as a stronger fit for their current needs, leaving Chalobah's future dependent on whether Como decides to return with an improved bid.
