Vinícius Rejects Real Madrid Renewal Offer as Arsenal Emerge as Leading Contenders

According to former Real Madrid legend and ex-sporting director Predrag Mijatović on Cadena SER’s program “El Larguero”, Vinícius Júnior currently has no intention of renewing his contract with Real Madrid.
The “soap opera” surrounding Vinícius’ future is approaching a potentially decisive moment. This Wednesday, Real Madrid will hold face-to-face talks with the Brazilian forward’s representatives to discuss a possible contract extension.
According to Cadena SER, Vinícius has already directly rejected Real Madrid’s latest renewal offer: a new deal running until 2031, with an annual salary of €22 million. If the two sides ultimately fail to reach an agreement, Arsenal would become the leading contender to sign the Brazilian star.
It is worth noting that Vinícius’ current contract with Real Madrid expires in 2027, meaning he could leave the club as a free agent one year later.
Mijatović remains pessimistic about Vinícius’ chances of staying at the Santiago Bernabéu. Speaking on El Larguero, the former Real Madrid sporting director said:
“We all already know the offer Real Madrid made, and Vinícius rejected it. At this stage of the summer transfer window, with only one year left on his contract, the situation is quite clear: Vinícius does not want to renew.”
“Whether he is asking for €30 million, €35 million, or €25 million in annual salary is no longer the main issue. At this point, that is not what matters. As a top-level player, he is certainly already considering or evaluating offers from other clubs. Arsenal are very interested in signing him, and the information I have received from England suggests that Arsenal are willing to spend heavily to bring him in.”
“If he does not want to renew, the club at least needs to make a significant profit through a transfer. We will have to see how things develop, but if there is still no clear outcome by August, and Real Madrid cannot convince him to extend his contract, they will have to consider selling him to secure a major transfer fee.”
