Fulham Secure Rising Star Gonzalo Garcia in Long-Term Move from Real Madrid

Fulham have completed the signing of promising striker Gonzalo Garcia from Real Madrid, with the 22-year-old agreeing to a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2031. While the financial details of the transfer remain undisclosed, the agreement also includes an option to extend his stay by an additional season.

The move marks a fresh chapter in Garcia's career after spending most of his football development at Real Madrid. The young forward expressed his excitement about playing in the Premier League and welcomed the opportunity to work once again with Alvaro Arbeloa, whose guidance played a major role in his growth during his academy years.

Garcia first joined Real Madrid's academy at the age of 10 before briefly spending a season with Mallorca's youth setup and returning to Madrid in 2019. His progress accelerated under Arbeloa, highlighted by an outstanding 2023/24 campaign in which he scored 35 goals and helped Real Madrid's Under-19 side achieve a historic treble.

His impressive form continued with Real Madrid Castilla, where he produced 25 goals and four assists in 36 matches. Those performances earned him promotion to the senior squad, where he scored his first goal in the Copa del Rey and later gained wider recognition during the FIFA Club World Cup by finishing as the tournament's Golden Boot winner with four goals and one assist.

Garcia ended last season with eight goals and three assists in 39 appearances for Real Madrid, further establishing himself as one of Spain's brightest young forwards. His consistent performances also earned him a senior international debut after an impressive record with Spain's Under-21 team, and Fulham will now hope he can carry that momentum into the Premier League.
