Persik Kediri Strengthen Attack with Former Persib Striker Sergio Castel

Persik Kediri have boosted their squad for the 2026/27 season by completing the signing of Spanish striker Sergio Castel. The move reflects the club's determination to improve its attacking options ahead of the new Liga 1 campaign.

Castel arrives after a brief spell with Persib Bandung, where he featured in eight matches, including the AFC Champions League Two, but was unable to find the back of the net. Despite his limited impact in Bandung, the experienced forward brings valuable experience from Spain, India, and Vietnam.

The club's management identified the forward line as a key area for improvement during the transfer window. Sporting director Razzi Taruna expressed confidence that Castel has the qualities needed to strengthen Persik's attack and contribute to the team's ambitions this season.

The signing also reinforces Persik's growing Spanish influence under head coach Marcos Reina. Castel joins fellow Spaniards Imanol Garcia, Jon Toral, Ernesto Gomez, and Jose Enrique, giving the squad a strong European core.
