Como Land Yan Couto on Loan with Permanent Transfer Option

Como have officially completed the signing of Brazilian full-back Yan Couto from Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan for the 2026-27 campaign. The agreement also includes an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
The Italian club reportedly paid €2 million to secure the loan, while the permanent purchase clause is valued at €20 million. Couto arrives after gaining valuable experience in Germany following his move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund in 2024.
The 24-year-old brings a strong résumé, having featured regularly in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League. His experience at the highest level is expected to strengthen Como's squad as they prepare for another Serie A season.
Head coach Cesc Fabregas views Couto as an ideal fit for his tactical approach, praising the defender's attacking instincts, technical ability, and versatility on the right flank. The coaching staff believe he has the qualities to make an immediate impact while continuing his development.
Couto becomes one of several new arrivals at Como during the summer transfer window as the club continues to reinforce its squad. Along with his club experience, the Brazilian also adds international pedigree after representing his country at senior level.
