Napoli Target Gabriel Jesus as Allegri Demands More Firepower Up Front
Napoli are continuing their efforts to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal before the summer transfer window closes. The Brazilian forward has reportedly become a priority for coach Massimiliano Allegri, who wants to add another experienced option to his attacking department ahead of the new season.
Jesus could be available because he is no longer considered one of Arsenal’s first-choice starters. His uncertain position in the London club’s plans has created an opening for Napoli, who see the former Manchester City striker as a player capable of adding quality and versatility to their frontline.
However, Napoli cannot complete the deal immediately because they first need to generate additional funds through player sales. The club’s transfer strategy currently depends on creating financial room, with Noa Lang and Lorenzo Lucca emerging as the two players most likely to leave in order to help finance a move for Jesus.
Lang has attracted interest from Bologna, who could be looking for a replacement for Jonathan Rowe if his expected move to Atalanta goes through. Meanwhile, Lucca has drawn attention from several Serie A clubs, including Torino, Sassuolo, Fiorentina, and Genoa, giving Napoli several potential routes to raise funds.
If Napoli manage to sell one or both players, their pursuit of Jesus could gather momentum in the final days of the window. Allegri sees the Brazilian as an important addition who could give him greater flexibility in attack, but Napoli must first resolve their outgoing transfers before they can make a serious move for the Arsenal forward.
