The Sun: Manchester United unhappy with FC Barcelona over attempts to lower Marcus Rashford transfer fee

Manchester United are reportedly unhappy with Barcelona’s attempts to lower the price for Marcus Rashford, according to The Sun journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
Tensions have arisen between the two clubs over discussions surrounding a discounted transfer deal. Barcelona hold an option to sign Rashford permanently for £26 million, but there is still uncertainty over whether they will keep the England forward. Third parties are continuing negotiations on Rashford’s behalf, while sources at United are dissatisfied with Barcelona’s efforts to push the price down.
Rashford has two years remaining on his contract with Manchester United but is no longer part of the club’s long-term plans. He has made 45 appearances for Barcelona this season, contributing 13 goals and 11 assists. However, under Hansi Flick, he has not been a guaranteed starter, with roughly half of his appearances coming from the bench.
Manchester United are set to hold a meeting this week to discuss outgoing transfers for the summer window. André Onana, Joshua Zirkzee, and Manuel Ugarte will all be allowed to seek new clubs. Backup goalkeeper Altay Bayındır is expected to join Beşiktaş, while the club may also sell academy midfielder Toby Collyer to raise funds. Casemiro, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia are also expected to depart.
