Persib Hit by More Financial Trouble After Fresh PSSI Sanctions
Persib Bandung are facing growing pressure during the 2025/2026 season after receiving another wave of punishments from the PSSI disciplinary committee. The Indonesian giants had already been fined heavily by the AFC earlier this year, and now they must deal with additional domestic sanctions totaling Rp455 million because of multiple supporter-related incidents.
Most of the penalties were linked to the behavior of Bobotoh supporters during matches against Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC and PSIM Yogyakarta. The disciplinary committee highlighted several violations, including away supporters attending restricted matches, pitch invasions after full time, flare usage, firecracker explosions, and objects thrown toward the field.
The first series of punishments came after Persib's away match against Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC on April 30, 2026. Persib were fined Rp25 million because their supporters were present as visiting fans, which breached league regulations. Additional fines followed after two supporters entered the pitch once the game ended, while flare and firecracker incidents inside several stands led to more financial penalties.
Further sanctions arrived after the clash against PSIM Yogyakarta on May 4, 2026. Supporters were reported to have thrown large numbers of plastic bottles onto the pitch, while repeated firecracker explosions caused the match to stop temporarily. The disciplinary committee considered the incidents dangerous enough to hand Persib their biggest domestic punishment yet, a Rp250 million fine.
These latest sanctions add to the club's growing financial burden after the AFC previously fined Persib around USD200,000 following crowd trouble during a match against Ratchaburi FC in the AFC Champions League 2. With mounting penalties both domestically and internationally, Persib now face serious challenges beyond their performances on the field.
