Kepa Faces Uncertain Fate Despite Arsenal's Historic Premier League Triumph

Arsenal finally secured their long-awaited Premier League title after nearly two decades, but not every member of the squad is guaranteed to receive a winner's medal. Goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga now faces uncertainty despite being included in every league matchday squad under Mikel Arteta this season. Although he remained part of the team throughout the campaign, the Spanish goalkeeper did not make a single Premier League appearance.

The North London club officially confirmed the championship after Manchester City dropped crucial points late in the season. Arsenal's consistency across the campaign allowed them to clinch their first league title since 2004, ending years of frustration for supporters and players alike. The trophy celebration is expected to take place at the Emirates during the final home fixture of the season.

While Kepa featured regularly in cup competitions, including the League Cup final against Manchester City, his lack of league appearances has placed his eligibility for an automatic medal in doubt. Premier League regulations require players to make at least five league appearances to qualify directly for a winner's medal. However, clubs are still given additional medals to distribute internally, leaving open the possibility that Arsenal may still reward him for his contribution behind the scenes.

In contrast, David Raya has been one of the key figures in Arsenal's title-winning campaign. Since arriving from Brentford, the Spanish goalkeeper has established himself as Arteta's undisputed first choice and played every minute in the league this season. His performances also helped him secure a third consecutive Premier League Golden Glove award, further strengthening his reputation as one of the league's most reliable goalkeepers.

Young midfielder Ethan Nwaneri has already secured his place among Arsenal's title winners after making enough substitute appearances before leaving on loan in January. Meanwhile, third-choice goalkeeper Tommy Setford remains in a similar situation to Kepa after failing to appear in the league this season. His only senior outing came in the FA Cup, leaving his chances of receiving a medal uncertain as Arsenal prepare to celebrate a memorable campaign.
