Shock Development as Persib Bandung Added to FIFA Transfer Ban List

Persib Bandung has been hit with unexpected news after appearing on FIFA’s Registration Ban List. The inclusion means the Indonesian club is currently subject to restrictions that prevent it from registering new players, creating uncertainty ahead of the upcoming season.
The FIFA Registration Ban List contains clubs from around the world that are facing disciplinary measures related to administrative, regulatory, or financial issues. Teams placed on the list are unable to complete player registrations until the matter leading to the sanction has been resolved or the ban is lifted.
Persib became the eighth Indonesian club to receive this type of punishment. Other domestic teams that have previously appeared on the list include Persiwa Wamena, PSBS Biak, PSCS Cilacap, Kalteng Putra, PSM Makassar, Semen Padang, and PSIS Semarang.
The sanction officially took effect on May 29, 2026, and will remain in place until FIFA determines that the issue has been settled. As a result, Persib may face challenges in strengthening its squad during preparations for the 2026/27 campaign, particularly if the restriction continues through the transfer window.
The situation has drawn considerable attention because FIFA has not disclosed the specific reason behind the ban. The lack of information has fueled speculation, especially given Persib’s reputation as one of Indonesia’s most financially stable clubs. Until further clarification emerges, the exact cause of the sanction remains unclear.
