Persik Kediri Part Ways with Brazilian Striker After Short and Unproductive Spell

Persik Kediri have decided to end their partnership with Brazilian forward Rodrigo Dias after only half a season together. The striker was brought in during the mid-season transfer window of the 2025/26 Super League, but his stay in Kediri has now been cut short as the club reshapes its squad.
Despite the brief period, Rodrigo still managed to feature regularly in the team’s plans. He made 15 appearances in the second half of the season and was frequently used as a central attacking option, either as a starter or coming off the bench to strengthen the frontline.
However, his time on the pitch did not produce the expected impact in terms of goals. Even with consistent involvement, the forward was unable to register a single goal, which ultimately influenced the club’s evaluation of his contribution.
The decision reflects a broader review of the squad by Persik Kediri, which appears to be preparing changes in its foreign player composition. Rodrigo Dias, a 32-year-old striker with experience in several Asian leagues including Thailand’s PT Prachuap FC, was appreciated for his professionalism but could not fully deliver the attacking output needed.
Moving forward, Persik Kediri are expected to search for a new foreign striker to strengthen their attacking line. The club aims to build a more effective and competitive squad as they target stronger and more consistent performances in the next Super League season.
