Yamal Makes History
Lamine Yamal opened his World Cup scoring account in the 10th minute, slotting home from close range after an Oyarzabal cross from the left. At just 18 years and 343 days old, Yamal became the eighth-youngest scorer in World Cup history, surpassing Lionel Messi's record. The all-time benchmark remains Pelé, who scored for Brazil against Wales at just 17 years old in 1958.


Oyarzabal Stars with Brace
Mikel Oyarzabal was the standout performer, netting twice in three minutes to put Spain firmly in control before halftime. In the 21st minute, he poked home from a scramble following a corner. Two minutes later, a flowing move involving Pedri and Cucurella ended with Oyarzabal sliding in at the far post. Spain led 3-0 at the break.

Own Goal Seals the Rout
Early in the second half, Cucurella's volley from a corner was parried by the Saudi goalkeeper, only for the ball to deflect off defender Tambakti into his own net. A late Torres goal was ruled out by VAR for offside, leaving the final score at 4-0.
