Arema FC Strengthen Defense with Arrival of Brazilian Center-Back Diego Landis
Arema FC have reinforced their backline by signing Brazilian central defender Diego Luiz Landis ahead of the 2026/27 Super League season. The club believes the experienced defender has the qualities needed to become an important figure in its defensive unit.
The 28-year-old arrives with valuable experience from several professional leagues across Asia and Europe. Before joining Arema, Diego played for Terengganu FC in Malaysia after previous spells with Thailand's Chiangrai United and Khon Kaen United, where he established himself as a reliable defender.
Earlier in his career, Diego developed through the youth system of São Paulo before spending two seasons with FC Porto B in Portugal. His international experience is expected to help him adapt quickly to the demands of Indonesian football.
Standing 193 centimeters tall, Diego is recognized for his strength in aerial battles, composed defending, and ability to start attacks from the back. Those attributes match Arema's objective of improving its defensive stability for the upcoming campaign.
Diego becomes the third senior defender signed by Arema during the current transfer window, following the arrivals of Robi Darwis and Alfeandra Dewangga. The club hopes the trio will provide a stronger defensive foundation as the Singo Edan aim to compete at a higher level throughout the new season.
