Persija Strengthen Midfield with Experienced Japanese Star Kyohei Yoshino

Persija Jakarta have completed the signing of Japanese midfielder Kyohei Yoshino, making him the club's sixth new arrival ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 31-year-old joined from J1 League side Cerezo Osaka on a two-year contract as part of the club's efforts to strengthen its squad for the upcoming campaign.

Yoshino brings extensive experience from top-level football in Japan and South Korea. During his professional career, he has represented several clubs, including Tokyo Verdy, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, Vegalta Sendai, Yokohama FC, Cerezo Osaka, and Daegu FC, giving him valuable experience across East Asian competitions.

Known for his tireless work ethic, discipline, and ability to control the midfield, Yoshino is expected to add stability and balance to Persija's lineup. His versatility and experience are viewed as important assets as the club looks to compete at a higher level throughout the season.

Persija's management believes Yoshino's leadership and professional mentality will benefit the team both on and off the pitch. His background in highly competitive leagues is expected to help raise the overall standard of the squad while supporting younger players in their development.

Yoshino joins an ambitious recruitment drive that has already seen Persija add Pratama Arhan, Aqil Savik, Kerim Memija, Denis Kolinger, and Radovan Pankov. With six new signings secured, the Jakarta-based club is continuing to build a well-balanced squad capable of challenging for major honors in the 2026/27 season.
