Persija Strengthens Midfield with Bosnia International Stjepan Loncar Ahead of New Season
Persija Jakarta has completed the signing of Bosnian midfielder Stjepan Loncar as part of its preparations for the 2026/2027 Super League campaign. The experienced playmaker joins the Indonesian club on a two-year deal after a transfer agreement with Croatian side NK Istra 1961. Loncar began his professional career with NK Siroki Brijeg before building an impressive resume across Europe. During his career, he has represented clubs such as HNK Rijeka, Ferencvárosi TC, KV Kortrijk, FC Astana, Lech Poznan, and NK Istra 1961. The 29-year-old also brings strong recent form into his new chapter in Indonesia. During the 2025/2026 Croatian league season, he made 33 appearances while contributing three goals and six assists. On the international stage, Loncar has earned 11 senior caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina since making his debut in 2018, adding further quality and leadership to Persija's squad.
