Spain has climbed to the top of the latest FIFA men's world rankings after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final. France and England retained third and fourth place, respectively, despite England defeating France in the World Cup third-place playoff. Further down the rankings, Brazil and Morocco both moved up to fifth and sixth, pushing Portugal lower after its Round of 16 exit against Spain. Mexico also enjoyed a significant rise into the top 10 following an impressive tournament that included a perfect group-stage record and a place in the knockout rounds.

Among the biggest movers, Norway recorded the most remarkable improvement by climbing 12 places to 19th in the world rankings. Led by Erling Haaland, the Scandinavian nation continued its upward trajectory, while the United States also made modest progress after advancing beyond the group stage before being eliminated by Belgium.
