Bayern Exclude Palhinha, Boey and Zaragoza from 2026/27 Squad Plans

According to Bild, Bayern Munich have removed returning loanees João Palhinha, Sacha Boey, Bryan Zaragoza, and Arijon Ibrahimović (Amine Adli? — see note below) from the club’s official squad list for the new season.

The situation of the four players has once again become clear on Bayern’s official website. The Bundesliga champions updated the “Team” section this week with the squad list for Vincent Kompany’s 2026/27 season.

It is worth noting that Felipe Chávez, another returning loanee whose future remains undecided and who has not been assigned a squad number, still appears on the website with his initials “FC”. However, Palhinha (contract until 2028), Boey (contract until 2028), Zaragoza (contract until 2029), and Sarr (contract until 2027) are completely absent from the list.

Although all four players remain under valid contracts with the Bundesliga champions, Bayern have decided not to include them in the official first-team squad for the upcoming season.

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl addressed the situations of Boey, Palhinha, and Zaragoza on Wednesday while introducing new signing Nathaniel Brown at the club’s new team hotel, Egerner Höfe, near Lake Tegernsee.

“We have made it very clear that we have been very open and honest with Sacha, Bryan, and João. We hope to allow them to leave,” Eberl said.

“They all have contracts with Bayern, and we must respect that because a contract is an agreement between two parties. However, I believe that for these three players, the future will not be at Bayern.”

Eberl added: “If someone decides to stay here, it will be extremely difficult and complicated for him because he will not play an important role. Our squad has already been finalized, and with the current structure of the team, these three players are not part of our plans.”
