James Trafford Arrival Clears Path for Lucas Perri's Torino Move
Leeds United have completed the signing of James Trafford, a move that has accelerated Lucas Perri's expected transfer to Torino. The Brazilian goalkeeper is now closing in on a switch to Serie A after Leeds secured a replacement.
Trafford reportedly completed his medical following his departure from Manchester City, with his transfer setting a new club record for Leeds. His arrival removes the final obstacle that had delayed Perri's exit from Elland Road.
Torino have identified Perri as their preferred choice to strengthen the goalkeeping position and have remained patient while Leeds searched for a successor. With Trafford now in place, negotiations are expected to progress quickly.
Perri joined Leeds from Lyon last summer but struggled to establish himself as a regular starter during a difficult first season in England. A move to Italy offers the opportunity to revive his career with consistent first-team football.
The proposed agreement is expected to be a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. If finalized, Perri will begin a new chapter with Torino as the club looks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign.
