Chelsea Could Pocket £4m Windfall from Lukaku's Fenerbahce Move

Chelsea could receive a significant financial boost if Romelu Lukaku completes his expected move from Napoli to Fenerbahce. The Belgian striker has reportedly reached an initial agreement with the Turkish club, while Napoli are working toward finalizing the transfer.

The deal is expected to be worth between £9 million and £10 million, although other reports have suggested a fee of around €10 million. If the transfer reaches the higher figure, Chelsea could benefit from a sell-on clause included when Lukaku left Stamford Bridge for Napoli on a permanent basis.

Under that agreement, Chelsea are entitled to 40 percent of Lukaku's next transfer fee. A £10 million deal would therefore give the Premier League club approximately £4 million, providing an unexpected source of income without requiring Chelsea to negotiate directly with Fenerbahce or Napoli.

Lukaku returned to Chelsea in 2021 in a club-record £97.5 million transfer from Inter Milan, but his second spell in London failed to meet expectations. Off-field controversy and inconsistent performances were followed by loan spells at Inter and Roma before Chelsea eventually sanctioned his permanent departure to Napoli.

The striker subsequently rebuilt his reputation in Italy and became an important player for Napoli. His potential move to Fenerbahce could now open another chapter in his career, while Chelsea stand to benefit financially despite no longer being involved in his sporting future. The additional income could provide another boost to the club's finances and transfer plans.
