Yaya Touré Begins Coaching Career Chapter as Head Coach of Slovan Bratislava

Yaya Touré has officially stepped into a new phase of his football journey after being appointed head coach of Slovan Bratislava on a three-year contract. The former Ivory Coast international now takes charge of one of Slovakia’s most successful clubs as they aim to build a fresh era under his leadership.

Since retiring from professional football in 2020, Touré has gradually developed his coaching profile through assistant roles at several clubs and national teams. His experience working in different football environments has prepared him for his first opportunity as a senior head coach, marking a significant milestone in his post-playing career.

Touré has expressed enthusiasm about the challenge ahead, emphasizing his intention to maintain the club’s existing strengths while also introducing his own tactical identity. He views the opportunity as both an honor and a responsibility, especially given the club’s strong history and competitive ambitions in domestic and European football.

Before taking this role, he served as an assistant coach at clubs and national setups including Olimpik Donetsk, Akhmat Grozny, Standard Liège, and most recently the Saudi Arabia national team. This varied background is expected to support his transition into leading a top-level squad.
