Emil Audero Linked With Juventus Return as Goalkeeping Shuffle Opens Door

Emil Audero has reportedly emerged as a potential option for Juventus as the Turin club reshapes its goalkeeping department ahead of the 2026/27 season. The Indonesia international could be considered for a backup role, particularly after Juventus brought in Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan.

A return to Juventus would mark an interesting chapter in Audero's career, as the club played an important role in his development. He joined the Bianconeri academy at a young age and eventually made his Serie A debut in the final match of the 2016/17 season, playing the full game in a 2-1 victory over Bologna.

Since leaving Turin, Audero has built considerable experience in Italian football with Venezia, Sampdoria, Inter Milan, Como and Cremonese. His most recent season with Cremonese was particularly notable, as he made 34 Serie A appearances and recorded 11 clean sheets, strengthening his credentials as an experienced goalkeeper.

Juventus could view that experience as a major advantage if they decide to add another goalkeeper to their squad. Audero has already played at a high level in Serie A and has experience at a major club, potentially making him a more reliable option as a deputy than a less experienced goalkeeper.

A possible reunion was also discussed in 2025, but the move did not happen after Mattia Perin remained at Juventus. With the club's goalkeeping situation changing again in 2026, Audero's name has resurfaced, creating the possibility of an unexpected return to the club where his professional journey began.
