Harry Kane Leaves the Door Open for a Future Premier League Return
Harry Kane has admitted that a return to the Premier League remains a possibility later in his career, although the Bayern Munich striker has no plans to make the move anytime soon. The England captain remains fully focused on his life in Germany, where he has established himself as one of Bayern’s most important players since leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane is currently under contract with Bayern until the summer of 2027, while the German champions are reportedly interested in extending his deal until 2029 or even 2030. His time in Munich has already delivered major success, including Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles, while he has also finished as the league’s leading scorer in each of the past three seasons.
The 33-year-old forward has also grown increasingly comfortable with life outside England. His experience in Germany has given him a different perspective on European football, while his family has settled well in Munich. Those factors could make a long-term stay at Bayern an attractive option, particularly if the club continues to build a competitive squad around him.
A potential Premier League comeback would nevertheless carry significant historical importance. Kane left England with an outstanding record after his years at Tottenham, scoring 213 league goals. That figure leaves him only 47 goals behind Alan Shearer’s record of 260, meaning a return to English football could give Kane a realistic opportunity to become the competition’s all-time leading scorer.
For now, however, Kane’s immediate future appears firmly tied to Bayern Munich. With several years remaining on his current contract and the club considering a longer extension, there is little reason for an imminent transfer. A Premier League return could become a fascinating possibility later in his career, especially if breaking Shearer’s record becomes one of his final ambitions.
