Emil Audero Remains in Como Squad as Juventus Transfer Hits Uncertainty

Emil Audero’s future has taken another interesting turn after Como 1907 officially included the Indonesia international goalkeeper in their squad for the 2026/2027 Serie A season. Como’s squad announcement on Friday, August 21, confirmed that Audero will remain with the club and wear the number 12 shirt. The development comes just days after reports linked the 29-year-old with a possible move to Juventus.
Juventus had reportedly identified Audero as a potential backup for Guglielmo Vicario, particularly if Mattia Perin decided to leave the Turin club. Reports from Italy previously indicated that Juventus and Audero had reached an agreement in principle, while Como were believed to be willing to consider a transfer worth around €3 million. However, the situation has become less straightforward as Juventus continue to consider keeping Perin.
Audero’s inclusion in Como’s squad does not necessarily mean that a transfer to Juventus has been completely ruled out. His current contract with Como runs until June 2028, giving the club a strong position in any potential negotiations. For now, however, there has been no indication that the move to Juventus has been finalized, leaving Audero’s immediate future uncertain.
The goalkeeper spent last season on loan at Cremonese and is now back at Como as the club prepares for a demanding campaign. Como will not only compete in Serie A but will also participate in the Champions League, making squad depth particularly important. Audero could therefore remain a valuable option for the team, especially with the club facing a busy schedule across domestic and European competitions.
Como are set to begin their Serie A campaign away against Udinese on Saturday, August 22. Audero’s presence in the official squad suggests that he remains part of the club’s plans at least for the start of the season. Unless Juventus make further progress in their efforts to reshape their goalkeeping department, Audero could continue his career at Como for the time being.
