Bali United Strengthen Defense with Dutch-Indonesian Talent Tim Geypens
Bali United have officially completed the signing of Indonesian international Tim Geypens from Dutch club FC Emmen ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 21-year-old left-back leaves the Netherlands after spending the last two seasons with Emmen, joining the Indonesian side to reinforce its defensive options for the upcoming Super League campaign.
The club believes Geypens has the qualities needed to improve the backline as Bali United aim to compete for silverware. His arrival reflects the team's continued efforts to build a stronger squad under head coach Johnny Jansen before the new season begins.
Geypens will reunite with fellow Indonesia U-20 international Jens Raven, with whom he previously represented the national team at the 2024 Maurice Revello Tournament. Both players were also included in Indonesia's squad for the FIFA Series in March 2026, although neither featured in the matches.
The move further strengthens Bali United's growing Dutch influence. Geypens joins a squad that already includes Dutch players Thijmen Goppel, Jordy Bruijn, Remco Balk, and Tim Receveur, all working under Dutch manager Johnny Jansen as the club continues to shape its identity with European experience.
While Bali United have not revealed the length of Geypens' contract, reports indicate that the defender arrived on a free transfer after departing FC Emmen. His signing is expected to provide greater competition at left-back and add valuable depth as the club prepares for a demanding domestic season.
