PSS Sleman Boost Squad with Hanif Sjahbandi and Hiromu Tanaka Ahead of New Season

PSS Sleman have strengthened their squad for the 2026/27 Super League campaign by signing Indonesian midfielder Hanif Sjahbandi and Japanese playmaker Hiromu Tanaka. The club introduced the two new arrivals separately through its official social media channels as preparations for the new season gathered pace.

Both players were already involved in the team's first training session under head coach Pieter Huistra before their official unveiling. Hanif, who is recovering from surgery, is expected to regain full fitness by August, giving PSS another experienced option in midfield once he returns to action.

The opening training session featured 30 players, including several key members from last season such as Gustavo Tocantins, Lucao, and Frederic Injai. The coaching staff focused primarily on rebuilding the players' physical condition following the offseason break as the squad begins its preseason program.

Alongside the new signings, PSS have secured the core of their squad by extending the contracts of 17 players. Experienced names including Riko Simanjuntak, Cleberson, Kim Kurniawan, Fachruddin Aryanto, Kevin Gomes, and Ega Rizky will continue with the club, providing continuity ahead of the upcoming campaign.

While reinforcing the squad, PSS have also confirmed the departures of several players as part of their rebuilding process. The combination of fresh additions, a retained core, and a reshaped roster reflects the club's ambition to be more competitive when the 2026/27 Super League season gets underway.
