Three Rising Clubs Secure Promotion to Indonesia's Top Flight for 2026/2027
The lineup for the 2026/2027 BRI Super League is now complete after three clubs successfully earned promotion from Indonesia's second division. After a demanding and competitive season, PSS Sleman, Garudayaksa FC, and Adhyaksa FC officially secured places in the country's highest football tier, bringing fresh energy and new stories into next season's competition.
Adhyaksa FC became the final team to seal promotion after defeating Persipura Jayapura in a tense playoff match at Lukas Enembe Stadium. The narrow 1-0 victory was decided by a late first-half goal from Adilson Silva, allowing the club to complete an impressive campaign. Despite being a relatively new side in professional football, Adhyaksa FC consistently performed well throughout the season and ended the group stage as runners-up in the West Group with 51 points from 27 matches.
The club also stood out as the most productive attacking team during the competition, scoring an outstanding 64 goals across the season. Under coach Ade Suhendra, Adhyaksa FC showed remarkable growth and discipline, proving they were ready to compete against stronger opponents. Their promotion marks a major milestone for the club and highlights how quickly they have developed into a serious contender in Indonesian football.
PSS Sleman and Garudayaksa FC had already guaranteed automatic promotion earlier after winning their respective groups in the 2025/2026 Championship phase. PSS Sleman dominated the East Group with 56 points, edging Persipura Jayapura on goal difference, while Garudayaksa FC finished at the top of the West Group with 52 points. For Garudayaksa FC, the achievement is especially historic because the club has not even reached its first anniversary, making their rise to the top division one of the season's biggest surprises.
Although both teams have already earned promotion, PSS Sleman and Garudayaksa FC are still set to meet in the Championship final at Maguwoharjo Stadium in Sleman. The match will determine the second-division champion before the clubs prepare for life in the BRI Super League. Meanwhile, the arrival of the promoted teams will replace clubs facing relegation, with PSBS Biak and Semen Padang already confirmed to drop to the lower division while several others continue fighting to avoid the same fate.
