Napoli Set to Land Badiashile as Chelsea Agree €30 Million Transfer Package

Napoli are closing in on the signing of Benoit Badiashile after reaching an agreement with Chelsea over a deal worth €30 million. The arrangement includes a €3 million loan fee and a €27 million purchase option, with both clubs agreeing to remove additional bonuses that had previously complicated the negotiations.

The two sides had already reached an initial agreement last week, but the transfer was temporarily held up by discussions over a further €1 million in performance-related bonuses. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis eventually helped resolve the issue, allowing the deal to move forward without the extra payment.

Badiashile is expected to travel to Italy on Tuesday as Napoli prepare to complete the remaining formalities. His medical examination is scheduled for the following day, with the timing influenced by another transfer being finalized by the Italian club involving Italy Under-21 defender Costantino Favasuli from Catanzaro.

The French defender will undergo his medical at Villa Stuart in Rome, following Napoli's usual procedure for new signings. Once the tests are completed, Badiashile can then continue his journey to Naples and begin the final steps of his move from Chelsea.

The agreement gives Napoli the opportunity to strengthen their defensive options while limiting their immediate financial commitment. With the purchase structured as an option rather than an obligation, the Serie A side will have the chance to assess Badiashile's performances before deciding whether to make his move permanent at the end of the season.
