Roma Beat Competition to Sign Rodrigo Mora as Porto Retain 50% Future Sale Rights

AS Roma have officially completed the signing of Portuguese youngster Rodrigo Mora from FC Porto, adding one of Europe's promising young attackers to their squad. The 19-year-old arrives after weeks of negotiations, with the Italian club agreeing to an initial fee of €25 million under a complicated deal that still gives Porto significant financial rights over his future.

Under the terms of the agreement, Porto will retain 50% of any future transfer fee generated by Mora. Roma can eventually take full control of those rights by paying another €25 million, giving the Serie A side a pathway to secure the player's entire economic ownership if his value continues to rise.

Mora became an increasingly important player during his time at Porto, making 80 competitive appearances and contributing 16 goals along with six assists. His standout campaign came in the 2024-25 season, when he scored 10 goals in 23 league appearances, highlighting his growing influence despite his young age.

His arrival is closely connected to Gian Piero Gasperini's desire to add more attacking quality before the summer transfer window closes. Roma see Mora as a player capable of bringing creativity, energy and a fresh attacking dimension to the squad, while his development could make him an important part of the club's long-term plans.

Mora will begin his new adventure at the Stadio Olimpico wearing the number 86 shirt. Roma are counting on the highly rated teenager to strengthen their attacking options and help the club compete near the top of Serie A, while the move also represents a major step in Mora's development as he begins his first chapter outside Portuguese football.
