Juventus Close In on €33 Million Pape Matar Sarr Deal as Late Transfer Push Intensifies

Juventus are stepping up their activity as the transfer window approaches its final stages, with Pape Matar Sarr emerging as one of their main targets. The Italian giants are close to completing an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur that would initially bring the Senegalese midfielder to Turin on loan, with the overall deal potentially reaching €33 million.

The proposed arrangement includes a €3 million paid loan followed by a €30 million purchase option. That option could reportedly become mandatory if certain conditions are met during Sarr's time in Italy. The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with Juventus and is keen to complete the move after receiving permission to explore a departure from Tottenham under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Juventus have accelerated their recruitment plans partly because of long-term injuries suffered by Kenan Yildiz and Khephren Thuram. Sarr is viewed as a player capable of adding energy, athleticism and depth to the midfield, making his arrival particularly important with the squad facing a demanding campaign. The club are therefore working to finalize the remaining details before the transfer deadline.

At the same time, Juventus have opened discussions with Sassuolo regarding young French midfielder Darryl Bakola. The 19-year-old only joined Sassuolo in February 2026 after leaving Olympique Marseille in a deal worth €10 million plus €2 million in potential add-ons. His development and versatility have made him another interesting option for Juventus as they look to strengthen the squad for both the present and the future.

Bakola's potential move could also benefit from an existing connection between the two clubs. Giovanni Carnevali, who previously played an important role in arranging Bakola's move to Sassuolo, is now responsible for transfer strategy at Juventus. His knowledge of the Sassuolo setup could help the Bianconeri negotiate favorable terms, while the simultaneous pursuit of Sarr and Bakola underlines Juventus' determination to make significant additions before the window closes.
