Muhammad Toha Begins Overseas Journey After Completing Move to DPMM FC

Muhammad Toha has officially become the latest Indonesian player to continue his career abroad after joining DPMM FC for the 2026/2027 Malaysia Super League season. His arrival marks another Indonesian presence at the Brunei-backed club following the departure of striker Ramadhan Sananta at the end of the previous campaign.

Toha leaves behind a long and loyal spell with Persita Tangerang, where he spent nearly his entire professional career. Since joining the club in 2017, the defender became one of Persita's most recognizable players and regularly served as captain. His leadership and consistency in defense helped establish him as a key figure for the team over several seasons.

The move to DPMM FC represents the first overseas challenge of Toha's career. After years of playing exclusively in Indonesia, the 30-year-old defender now faces a new level of competition in Malaysian football. DPMM FC confirmed his signing while also emphasizing that he will need to compete for a starting role rather than automatically securing a place in the lineup.

Competition at right-back is expected to be intense next season. Toha will battle experienced player Pg Yura Indera Putera as well as former Kuala Lumpur City FC defender Declan Lambert for a regular position in the squad. The club appears determined to strengthen its defensive options as it prepares for a more competitive campaign.

Toha's arrival is also part of a broader squad restructuring at DPMM FC after the club ended its partnership with Sananta. The Indonesian striker scored four goals in 27 appearances during the 2025/2026 season before departing. Meanwhile, Toha leaves Persita with an impressive record of 165 appearances, one goal, and 13 assists, along with a reputation as one of the club's most dependable and dedicated players.
