AC Milan Extend Luka Modric’s Stay Until 2027 as Veteran Midfielder Continues Rossoneri Journey
AC Milan have officially extended Luka Modric’s contract for another season, keeping the Croatian midfielder at the club until June 30, 2027. The new agreement reflects the club’s confidence in the experienced playmaker, who joined the Rossoneri last season on an initial one-year deal.
Despite turning 40, Modric has continued to make an important impact for Milan. During his first campaign with the Italian giants, he made 37 appearances across all competitions and scored two goals while providing leadership and stability in midfield.
The club values Modric not only for his performances on the pitch but also for the experience, professionalism, and winning mentality he brings to the dressing room. His influence has been viewed as a key asset as Milan continue to build a competitive squad.
Before arriving in Italy, Modric enjoyed one of the most successful careers in European football with Real Madrid, winning numerous major trophies, including multiple UEFA Champions League titles. He has also remained a legendary figure for Croatia, earning more than 200 international appearances and representing his country at another major tournament during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Milan head into the 2026/27 season determined to return to the top of Serie A after finishing fifth last year. With Ruben Amorim taking charge as head coach and Modric staying for another campaign, the club hopes to combine experienced leadership with a fresh tactical approach in pursuit of domestic and European success.
