Real Madrid Secure Rising Star Carlos Espi in €25 Million Deal to Strengthen Attack
Real Madrid have completed the signing of promising striker Carlos Espi from Levante after activating his €25 million release clause. The 21-year-old forward has agreed to a five-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2031, marking another major addition to the club's squad ahead of the 2026–27 season.
The transfer reflects Madrid's determination to reinforce their attacking options with young talent capable of making an immediate impact while developing into a long-term asset. Club officials see Espi as a player with significant potential who can increase competition for places in the forward line.
Espi leaves Levante after three seasons in which he made 66 appearances and scored 20 goals. His impressive performances last season earned him the league's Best Under-23 Player award, while his consistent development also led to appearances for Spain at both the Under-19 and Under-20 international levels.
The Spanish forward becomes Real Madrid's fifth signing of the 2026 summer transfer window and the fifth arrival since José Mourinho returned as head coach. His signing continues the club's strategy of strengthening every area of the squad before the new campaign begins.
Before bringing in Espi, Real Madrid had already reinforced their defense with Marc Cucurella, Denzel Dumfries, and Ibrahima Konaté, while Bernardo Silva arrived on a free transfer to add experience in midfield. Espi's arrival completes another important step in the club's ambitious rebuilding project as they prepare to compete for major trophies in the upcoming season.
