AC Milan Overtakes Atletico Madrid in Race to Sign PSG Striker Gonçalo Ramos
AC Milan has emerged as the frontrunner to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Gonçalo Ramos, moving ahead of Atletico Madrid in the race for the Portuguese forward. The Italian club has reportedly submitted its first official offer as it looks to strengthen its attacking options ahead of the new season.
Atletico Madrid had identified Ramos as a priority target while preparing for the possible departures of Julian Alvarez and Alexander Sorloth. However, Milan acted more quickly by presenting a proposal worth up to €45 million, including performance-related bonuses. The offer is close to PSG's reported €50 million valuation, leaving only a small gap for both clubs to resolve.
Negotiations are continuing with the involvement of the player's representatives as Milan works to finalize the transfer. The Serie A side is also preparing a long-term contract that would keep Ramos at the club for four or five years while matching the salary he currently earns in Paris.
Although Atletico can offer UEFA Champions League football next season, Milan remains confident that Ramos is attracted to its sporting project despite the club competing in the UEFA Europa League. Club executives are eager to complete the transfer before any rival can make a stronger move.
After spending three seasons with PSG, Ramos is believed to be ready for a fresh challenge despite being under contract until 2028. Milan is viewed as an ideal destination for the 25-year-old striker, with the proposed move representing an important step in the next phase of his career.
